It had seemed that the QC-5000 was not properly connecting via USB. We were concerned that the “USB Serial Port” device was displayed with a “Warning” icon. But that turns out to be a non-issue. We went into IsoPro, and selected “Edit–>Preferences–>Machine Settings–>Comm Port” and set it to USB (it was already set to that) then “OK”. And voila it was working. Not sure if this action did anything!
